Rishi Inc Band at Birgunj & Chitwan

To celebrate 69th Republic Day of India and 70 years of diplomatic ties between India and Nepal, the Consulate organized musical performance by ICCR sponsored 'Rishi Inc Band' at Birgunj (30 January) and Bharatpur (31 January) with the support of Indian Cultural Center, Embassy of India, Kathmandu.The performance at Birgunj was organized at the Town Hall, a landmark of Birgunj where about 600 people including MPs, MLAs, Ex-Ministers, Chief District Officers, senior police and army officers, principal and teachers of various schools, representatives of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce & Industries and various business associations, academicians and eminent persons of Birgunj were present.At Bharatpur Ronik Pathak Memorial Trust arranged the performances at the Auditorium of B. P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital (established with funding by Government of China). Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Renu Dahal and the newly elected MP Krishna Bhakt Pokhrael jointly inaugurated the event as Chief Guests. More than 500 people including MLAs, Ex-Ministers, representatives of various political parties, administrative and police officers, business representatives, academicians and eminent people of Chitwan District attended the event. The relatively younger crowd at the event cheered, sang along and danced to the tune of Band throughout its two hours of performance.Consul General read out the message of Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri at both the events. Screening of documentaries on 'India-Nepal Relations' & 'A Day of journey in India' were organized on the occasion.
