Indo-Nepal Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar on 8th August, 2017 at Birgunj

The Consulate General of India organized Indo-Nepal Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar on 8th August, 2017 at Birgunj. Ninenteen business delegates from Bihar Industries Association, Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal Chambers of Commerce and Industry having investment interests in iron & steel, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and agro-chemicals, packaging materials, dairy products, healthcare services, textile products, drinking water, perfume and essential oil, ayurvedic & herbal products and security services participated in the event.

More than 150 business representatives from Birgunj Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Morang Merchants Association, Rautahat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Janakpur Chamber of Commerce and Indusry, Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mirchaiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Siraha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mahottari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malangwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry etc attended the Seminar.

Apart from the Consul General's address focusing on bilateral trade and investment potential, power point presentations were made by Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Morang Merchant's Association and Nepal Agriculture and Research Council. Shri Jagdish Prasad Aggarwal, CEO of Nimbus Group spoke on the perspective of Indian investment in Nepal. Professor N K Chaudhary, Department of Economics, Patna University emphasized on economic engagements of business establishments on both sides of the border. More than 100 B2B meetings were held in the afternoon session of the Seminar.
