Sangeet Sandhya with Pandit Jagat Narayan Pathak "Mallik" in the evening of Independence Day celebration at CGI, Birgunj

In the Evening of 15 August, 2016, the Consulate General of India, Birgunj  organised " Sageet Sandhya"  with Shri Pandit Jagat Narayan Pathak "Mallik"  an exponent of  Dhrupad from Patna  accompanied by Shri Subodh Ranjan Prasad on Tabla and Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha on Violin on the auspicious occasion of 70th Independence Day of India at Hotel Vishuwa, Birgunj . The Sangeet Sandhya commenced with the lighting of lamp by Ms. Anju Ranjan, Consul General of India, Birgunj. The Musical troupe led by Shri Pandit Jagat Narayan Pathak "Mallik" presented renditions in Raag Yaman Kalyan, Raag Darbari, Megh Malhar, Gaur Malhar, a Thumri in Raag Bhairavi followed by Kajri evoking mystic enthusiasm amongst the audience. Around 350 people attended the programme which included inter-alia District Administration, Police, Indian Custom, elites of Birgunj, women and children. The function concluded by honouring the musical troupe with presentation of Shawls followed by vote of thanks.
